The market was not unbelievably exciting, but some nice trade opportunities did surface from time to time. As you can see from the chart above, I missed more good trades than I made, though I did eek out a bit of money. The set ups using the CCI alone were very fuzzy, as the CCI line wandered around the 100 lines more than I felt comfortable with. Have I ever mentioned I usually set the CCI to 10 periods, though for some markets a 16 period setting can be very effective, especially if the market is volatile.
I use a very unusual stochastic setting, too. I set it at 5,3,3. Try it and see if it doesn’t improve your trading some, though I would only recommend this setting for intraday trading, not swing trading.
