ES Emini: Pivot and other announcements

There is not an overabundance of announcements today, but some interesting stuff. Yesterday’s announcement of the alarming contraction of consumer credit should play into the market today.

I decided I need a day off so I didn’t trade today, didn’t even look at a chart during the trading hours. Looks like there were some decent trading opportunities early on and the market then became very congested. In any event, I give you the chart for your own analysis today.

Several nice trades early in the day, with the 9:30 move a very nice trade. The rest of the day the market traded in a narrow range and I probably should have stopped, but I was feeling stubborn, eeked out a few gainers and suffered a few losers.

Daily Pivot and Fed Annoucements for 9-2-09

I was stunned to see that GM and Chrysler still were unable to increase their sales, even though the cash for clunkers and rebates made for some incredible prices for potential consumers. Toyota won the cash for clunkers derby going away. No surprise there.

ES Emini: Pivot R1, R2, S1, S2 and Fed Announcements

It looks like an interesting day, as the “Cash for Clunkers” program should give the motor vehicle sales a nice boost, though one must wonder how much weight the market will give the numbers given the circumstance from which they arise. The usual home sales data follows and might produce some interesting results.

ES Emini Chart for 8-31-09

I stayed out of the early action as the market fell out of bed on poor performances in the Asian market and elsewhere, with the exception of Japan. True to form, 9:30 brought some quick action as I was able get a quick long trade and fade it on a short trade. From that point on the market was choppy and uneven, and I burned a trade when I became impatient.
