There appears to be a slew of announcements today that should have the traders interest.  I don’t expect much good news on the car report, and the rest probably may bring some of the recent gains via the hope for a recovering economy into question.  Hope I am wrong.    I won’t be though.  The day will be topped off by a speech from Mr. Bernanke.

Ever Lost on Your First Two Trades?

A very common mistake traders make is to try to get back in the money in one fell swoop. Often times a trader will take a trader of lower probability to accomplish this just to quit looking at the red numbers on his DOM.

Back from Vacation

I took a well deserved, at least in my opinion, vacation for the last week and have returned fresh and ready to go.  Market is already up on hopes for M &A activity…

The news on the housing starts is already out, along with jobless claims.  The housing starts were at a nine month high, but jobless numbers fell 12,000 to 545,000.  That’s still an awful lot of people out of work this week.

ES Emini Contract Trading for Wednesday

By , 16 September, 2009, No Comment

The Decision Bar software kept me long through some early morning pullbacks, and I was happy to oblige. I considered adding to my positions on some pullbacks, but decided against it. Only had one other notable trade for a 12 tick gain. Interesting day to trade.

Notice how the market never really decided to advance, in a decisive manner, past R2

ES Emini Daily Trading for Monday

By , 15 September, 2009, 1 Comment

There was a good bit of news driving the market today, and, at times, the traders had a hard to trying to make out just what the news meant. But then Ben got on the blower and said not to worry, things are just fine, end of recession. I’m wondering if all of those people out of work were thinking the same thing. I doubt it.

Ben Bernanke Speaks
10:00 AM ET

Should be a day loaded with all sorts of potential surprises, culminating with Bernanke speaking at 10 a.m.   I would be mindful, early on, of the potential volatility in the market as it digests a wide range of economic data.  Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is a simple one, where are we in this recession?
In the early going, the consumer spending numbers have been pretty positive.
